There are so many fun things to do in Holden Beach.  You can attend one of our free concerts, enjoy shelling where you can find unique shells, sharks teeth, and sea biscuits, take the ferry to Fort Fisher & visit the aquarium or spend a day in Southport for dining and shopping at it's many family owned boutiques and restaurants.

Yes, you need a marriage license to get married in Holden Beach. You can obtain a license from any Register of Deeds office in North Carolina, but it is valid only for a ceremony performed within the state.

Holden Beach offers free parking every day before 9:00 AM and after 5:00 PM. Between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, paid parking is enforced year-round in all designated public spaces. Parking is managed via license plate verification using the SurfCast by Otto Connect Mobile Solution App or posted QR codes. 

Anytime is a great time to visit this year-round destination!  Summer is our busiest season and expect lots of families whereas winter is our slower season with families coming to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas for our themperaste weather.
